The fall semester course (TI:ME 1a) covers basic skills in music notation software, music sequencing software, and use of electronic musical instruments. Participants also learn the basics of MIDI theory and the knowledge needed to make critical judgments about the appropriateness of selected music hardware and software for particular educational applications. The format of course alternates presentations with class activities, many of which serve to assess student progress. Satisfactory participation in class activities and successful completion of several final projects are required for TI:ME certification.
