![]() Jonathan Lee I am a senior at UTSA. I was born and raised in San Antonio. I will graduate in the Spring will a degree in General Business with a minor in Marketing and I will also complete the Music Production Certificate Program. I plan on taking this knowledge and help establish a technical school for music production and music performance. Something interesting about me is I am an outdoor person. I have climbed several mountains to include Mt. Rainier (14000ft+) in Washington and two volcanoes in Mexico, Popocetaptl and Orizaba (180000ft) with former mayor Phil Hardberger and family, as well as collegiate peaks in Colorado, mountains in New Mexico, and the Chilkoot trail in Alaska. A later trip to Mexico was spent spelunking in the Huatla cave system. I have gone through San Antonio's famous "Robber Baron" cave several times as well as the difficult "swim-through" of the freezing Honeycreek cave. Another place I visited at fifteen is the Boundary waters between the U.S. and Canada where I canoed the waters for a full week. When I was 14, I took a three week long rock climbing course at Enchanted Rock with the talented Mr. Scott Harris. Shortly after that, I went mountain biking in Moab, Utah and completed the MS 150 Bike to the Beach twice including a 500 mile and 400 mile week long bike ride. Aside from my outdoor endeavors, I also enjoy djing and making music. I started djing in 1996 but didn't buy my first set of turntables with a mixer until 2001. I am now on my second dj setup and am constantly adding new gear, my latest acquisition being Traktor Scratch Pro, a digital vinyl software program. I would like to continue djing with some of our Texas locals like Dj Spettro, J.A.M.O.N., Big Rich, Josh Stone, Sister Stroke, Paz, Joey B, and a plethora of others. I really enjoy all the classes in the Music Certificate Program, especially those with Dr. Sebald; yes even his way-too-early 9 am multimedia class. He is one of the best professors I have ever had and is always accepting of students he's had before, even if they might be taking the class for the second time. He is truly a reason to go to class and do your work. Examples of my multimedia work Project 1 © 2009, Jonathan Lee |
