Alex Yanez

My name is Alex Yanez and I am the eldest of three and was born on January 13, 1978. I graduated from Mac Arthur High School in 1996 and then attended Southwest Texas State University where I earned a Bachelors of Music in 2001. While attending SWT I was apart of Bobcat Marching Band, and the Symphonic Band under the direction of James Hudson. I was also in the stage band under the direction of Keith Winking and Dr. James Polk. I was luck to study saxophone under John Mills, Greg Wilson and Doug Skinner and jazz piano with Dr. James Polk. I also played with the salsa band at SWT.

In January of 2002 I began my career as a band director at Burbank High School in the San Antonio Independent School District.   Currently, I am the assistant band director at Fox Tech High School.
